What they are

Curcumin and resveratrol are both polyphenols, a group of plant-derived compounds that have been studied for their antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. We have grouped these two IV therapies together because they work along similar lines and are often considered for related reasons, even though they come from different sources.

Curcumin is the active compound in turmeric, the spice that gives curries their colour. Resveratrol is found in grapes and red wine. Taken by mouth, both are absorbed only in limited amounts. Delivering them by IV bypasses the digestive system and puts the compound directly into the bloodstream, which is why some people choose the IV route.

At Live More both are speciality therapies, doctor-prescribed after a consultation and nurse-administered in-clinic. They are not walk-in drips, and we do not offer them at your hotel.

Curcumin IV

Curcumin has been studied for its anti-inflammatory properties, and it is commonly used to support recovery from exercise-induced inflammation and muscle soreness in active people. For that reason it can be of interest to those training hard or dealing with everyday aches after exertion. (Hewlings & Kalman, 2017)

Beyond recovery, curcumin is also associated with joint comfort and with broader metabolic and cardiovascular support. It may suit people who want an anti-inflammatory angle to their wider wellbeing routine. As with any therapy, it is not right for everyone, which is why the doctor reviews your suitability before anything is prescribed.

Resveratrol IV

Resveratrol is a polyphenol studied for its association with reduced oxidative stress. It may support memory and inflammation-related pathways, and it is often chosen for cognitive support, metabolic support and long-term wellness. Some people also find it may ease allergy symptoms, though responses vary from person to person. (Bonnefont-Rousselot, 2016)

Resveratrol IV therapy is intended for adults with normal heart, liver and kidney function, and the doctor will check this at your consultation. A typical course is once a week for around 4 to 6 weeks, then continued as needed. The exact schedule is set individually rather than sold as a fixed package.

Who it is for

These therapies may suit adults who are already looking after the basics of diet, movement and sleep and want to add a targeted, evidence-informed option to that routine. Curcumin tends to appeal to active people focused on recovery and joint comfort, while resveratrol is more often chosen for cognitive, metabolic and longer-term wellness support.

They are not a substitute for medical treatment, and no single therapy is a shortcut to good health. The right fit depends on your health history and goals, which the doctor talks through with you before recommending either one.

What to expect

Everything begins with a consultation. A doctor reviews your health history and goals and decides whether curcumin, resveratrol, both or neither is appropriate for you. Nothing is administered without that step.

  • Each session runs roughly 45 to 60 minutes.
  • You relax in a comfortable treatment chair in a calm setting.
  • A trained nurse administers the IV. You may feel a small pinch as the line goes in, but it is generally comfortable.
  • The nurse stays with you and monitors the session throughout.

These are speciality therapies priced individually, confirmed at your consultation.

Safety and consultation

Live More is a licensed lifestyle clinic in Phuket, holding Ministry of Public Health clinic licence 83101001366. Both curcumin and resveratrol IV therapy are prescription-only. A doctor screens your suitability before either is prescribed, and a nurse administers the drip in-clinic.

This matters because IV therapies are not right for everyone. Resveratrol in particular is intended for adults with normal heart, liver and kidney function, and the consultation is where those factors are checked. We do not offer an at-hotel service, and we will always tell you honestly if a therapy is not the right fit for you.

If you would like to explore whether either therapy suits you, you are welcome to plan a visit and speak with one of our doctors first.

FAQ

Common questions.

What is the difference between curcumin IV and resveratrol IV?
Both are plant-derived polyphenols studied for antioxidant and anti-inflammatory support, but they come from different sources and are commonly used for slightly different reasons. Curcumin is the active compound in turmeric and is often chosen to support recovery from exercise-related inflammation, muscle soreness and joint comfort. Resveratrol is found in grapes and red wine and is more often associated with cognitive and metabolic support and long-term wellness. Which one suits you is something the doctor will talk through at your consultation.
Can I have both curcumin and resveratrol IV therapy?
In some cases both may be appropriate, since they are complementary rather than competing. Whether they are combined, alternated or kept separate is decided case by case by the doctor after reviewing your health and goals. We do not offer either therapy without that consultation first.
How many sessions will I need?
It varies from person to person. For resveratrol a typical course is once a week for around 4 to 6 weeks, then continued as needed. Curcumin sessions are planned individually depending on why you are having the therapy. The doctor will suggest a schedule that fits you rather than a fixed package.
Is IV therapy safe?
These are prescription-only therapies delivered at a licensed clinic (Ministry of Public Health clinic licence 83101001366). A doctor screens your suitability first and a nurse administers the drip in-clinic, so the process is supervised throughout. As with any therapy there can be individual factors that make it unsuitable, which is exactly what the consultation is there to check. Resveratrol in particular is intended for adults with normal heart, liver and kidney function.
Do you come to my hotel for the treatment?
No. Both curcumin and resveratrol IV therapy are given in-clinic only, in a comfortable treatment chair with a nurse present. We do not offer an at-hotel drip service. You are welcome to plan a visit to the clinic in Cherngtalay, Phuket.
